All finished with Tea shirt quilt

Hi everyone..

I hope everyone is safe and warm and dry from all this weird weather we are
having. Here in Wisconsin it was snow and then in the single digits.
Now I think we will get snow again. But everyone else seems to have either
a blizzard or flooding. I have trouble just couping with the weather here. I have to check the weather in the morning to find out what to ware. On to the good news.. finished Quilt.
As you can see by the pictures, the first is top down, but the whole quilt and the second picture is the top up, in the picture's it was not complete. I really did finished it on 12/16/09.

Carol Ann, the Manager I made it for was very pleased and happy. She had showen it to everyone at work before I could sign it. I could not take a picture of it by my self, but she promised to take pictures and email them to me. So as soon as I get them I will post them. Wheeew.. big job, very heavy and king size. But very proud of it, the colors and saching and border turned out good. The back is all different color squares, so she can use either side. No more big jobs for a while, I need to finish some UFOs first. I have 3 to pick from a blue/yellow reversible and a burgundy, ma rune reversible. Then I have a layered king that I am going to send off to have the top quilted, it is too heavy for me. I also over worked my sewing machines, both are acting up, one is a old American, and the later one is a White, that I love but is not working good. The white is 6 years old and has had a lot of sewing done on it, so I think I am ready for a new machine, (heavy duty).
I am looking forward to comments or some feed back from all you sewers and quilters or anyone who would like to say a few words.
I would like to hear some feed back about interest towards templates. More for children's quilts and maybe some for flowers and grown up persons too.. Well something for everyone.

Well I guess I will stop jabbering or blabbing for now, love to see everyone at the store. Check out the sales the first of the new year. I will have a big surprise in bargain fabric sale!!

Be safe and warm... Connie & Ms Tibbs

Project is looking Good...

Hi Everyone!!
I promised to post some Tea shirt
Blocks, they are 18" x 18" unfinished
I have 40 with the Center Block
so I have enough to make the King
size quilt that my customer wants.
I have somewhere between 7 and 10 different
colors going. So I will start at the middle and work
out with green her favorite, then blue, red and work all the lesser
colors towards the out side. I have not decided how big a border
I will use yet, maybe between 6" to 10. I cannot wait till it is finished.
I will take photo's of the finished quilt, and the Quilt case to carry it in, I will
use all the left over strips, scraps and rope to pull tie it.
Hope to see everyone at the store and sign up for the free monthly
give away. I was going to add new patterns, but maybe the New year.
We have been having such nice you (Know What), I am scared to talk about it.
Mother nature might decide to dump a ton of somthing on us. But Wisconsin is
so pretty till the bad you (Know What) comes along. It is December and so nice
outside, cold but nice and sunny., we had a little rain on the weekend but nice now.
I think I will make a pattern for the tea shirt quilt up, and put it on the web store after I finish it. I realy was not hard, just a lot of sewing. I did come across a very important nessasary tool for putting the shirt fabric together. You have to use only SEWABLE fusion backing. If not you will have to put more fabric on top of the back to keep your needle from sticking while sewing and have extra cover on your ironing board. That really was the only problem I had, because I was trying to use up soms old I had. I had plenty of strips. If you have been to the web store, I have a big choice of colors. They make it very easy to do blocks also.
The Quilting Bee sent in some good riddles and storys. I have a short one..
Thanks to Margie..
Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may
not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the heck alone.
(No Bad Words).
See you at the Store..

Working hard on T shirt Quilt...

Hi everyone..

My first few words on the weather.. I have to say it has been really nice out side. I should not speak too soon. But the 50's and 60's is nice, and that big pretty sun shining makes you want to go out for a nice walk. Those are my few words..

Now about my project, it is coming along fine and I ran into a few obstacles. The 3 or 4 shirts I pieced together needed extra backing so I could sew threw the stabilizer. I used none sew stabilizer on about 6 so I had to sew the back of extra teas on them to sew easier. Thank goodness I only did a few and a few and smaller tea's needed more border. I am doing the hard ones first and getting them out of the way. But they are looking gooood, lots of color, red, lime green, yellows, black, gold, browns, prints. I do not have pictures yet but soon.
So how are things going with everyone out there??? The Bee's at the hive are back from their swarm. And they are a buzz, they are starting a swap of blocks. And I have picked up some funny Pones. I put a recipes on the web sit for stuffed peppers that I cooked, and that where delicious. I made four and ate 3 and put one in the freezer, thanks to the bee's.
I sure hope you all come and check out the bargains at www.ctheworldofquilting.com
I look at many, many web sites for quilting and my prices on books, fabric and notions beat them all... I am not a big store but I have pretty fabrics and lots of bargains...
Well see you at the store or come blog with me love to meet new sewers and quilters.
Thanks Connie and Ms Tibbs.

About my commision to make a Tea shirt Quilt..

First my few words about the weather.. Winter is coming!! One week ago the leaves on the tree's where green, this week they turned (pretty) colors. Some fell in one night and others are still falling. I hope we have a some what nice winter (please, please). Ok! enough..

Now about my Tea shirt Quilt.. I am getting things done, I have all the shirts cut and 3/4 are put on stabelizer. They all would be done but I had to go to the store for more. Next I will trim them to the same size and start to match up fabric for each block, front and back. I am making a reversible so each block will be quilted after I sandwich it. I have a center block that is made of ties that belonged to the father of the young lady I am making it for. They are all she has left to remember him by. So I will make it the center, some of the tea's are from bands and concerts she attended and others that are long time favorites. I have some pretty colors going, black/red, lime green, yellows, golds, stripes and ect... There are faces of singers, bands even some signatures. A couple of blocks I had to piece together and used the backs for the back it they had pictures and writing.

Ok!! I still have not received (1) comment from anyone.. except my children. What does every one think about the quilt plan so far ? Care to join me as a follower, or comment on my web store. http://www.ctheworldofquilting.com/ .
I should have a few pictures on my next post. Come visit the store November, and check out the new Knitting books I am posting. I have a book on (Fabric left overs) above, that I would like to try soon.
Well time to turn in and see you at the store (I wish).

I have been commissioned to do a Quilt...

Hello Sewer's & Quilter's...

I always have to say a few words about the weather so...Here is a few. It is getting cold here in Wisconsin. That is enough of that, on to better things.
Did everyone get a chance to check out the new children's fabric I posted?? They are very cute for the baby and younger children bed quilts. With some of the other colors and prints I have at the store, they should make fun projects.
About the book I have on the blog today? It should give a hint about something I want to bring more of to my Web store. I am putting some nice books up on Knitting and Crochet. I was a avid crochet person for years. I have made scarfs, hats, baby sets, and large afghans for a bed (still going for 5 yrs). I have a tendency to do crochet in the winter, when my projects can keep me warm and watch my fun TV programs. So look for new books on crochet and quilting and maybe some yarn in the near future.
On to the commission to do a quilt that I have to finish by the end of December, that is rather special. One of my managers and I where talking and I said I was a quilter. So she came back to me about a special Tea Shirt quilt for her daughter. Her daughter has a collection of special things from her dad and 20-30 tea's from Bands and Singers she is crazy about. So I showed her the pattern I have on the Web store and Waa Laa... Tea shirt quilt being created. I also have a book on tea shirts that will help with some idea's. I will make it as a reversible, quilting both sides of each block at the some time. That is another on going project I started (3 yrs ago), or as quilters call them (UFO) unfinished objects. I will keep pictures as I work to let everyone see my progress. I could use some tips and information or comments from those who have had such a project!!
How about a couple of follower's to encourage me with new Idea's (Beehive). Where is a good Bee when you need them. That is the Quilting guild I belong too, they are on a swam now, but maybe when they get back they can check into my web store and blog with me..I read and use their riddles and fun stuff on my web store.
Well I think I have rambled on enough for now, but one more thank you to my handsome son's who are always there for me during my big projects (moving) (building) (repairs, computers) and ect.. ect.. They have the only comment I have received so far. Love you.
Thanks Connie & Ms Tibbs @ CTWOQ

Well I am Back from ???

Hello Everyone!!!

I am sorry I have not blogged for almost 30 days..

I have had a hard time training for my new position at work. Between the training and My grandson's coming from Florida my mind has been full to the brim. And this mind works at the pace it wants too. After a certain age things come at a different pace. well enough of old age and back to sewing and quilting.

How are all the projects and designs coming sewer's??? Pretty and (Bootiful) I hope. That is a word some of my grandchildren use. Well! I will have some nice sales going on starting October, so be sure and check the web store and maybe that fabric you are looking for is there at just the write price. I have bargain fabric on sale $3.20 a yard and five yards ship for only $4.95. You can mix or match fabric, and the fabric and colors are so pretty. I buy 100% high grade cotton. I sell for less because I buy up the last of designs and patterns. I wish I had the time to sew up some of the fabrics I have, with the colors and patterns I would have some beautiful Quilts. I will be registering with the Shop Hop this Fall so maybe we will meet at the store sometime.
I have brought in some designs for children and other fun fabric. I buy only 100% cotton, I have seen some Poly out there but I do not like it for quilting, maybe clothes, I would have to think about that.
Miss Tibbs Say's Hi... she is getting soo.. big. She is not a baby any more, and it is getting that time to see the Doc. She will always be my little kitty .
Well see you all at the store. Connie & Miss Tibbs.

After the big Move

Hi .. How is everyone doing out in sew land and all those places in between ?

I am finally settled in my new place, it is not the one I was trying to have. But I think it is even better...because someone else can do all the repairs and painting and all that other time consuming stuff I don't have too.
Well back to a better conversation. Maybe better, Ms Tibbs my half grown kitty whom I love is getting into stuff. And I mean stuff, breaking stuff like trying to jump from the sofa arm to the fire place mantel and breaking my biggest vase. And trying to climb
in the basement, knocking down my dryer vent hose.
Well back to quilting stuff..(I still love her). Quilting talk..
I will keep the Bargain Fabric on sale ($2.75 for a few more months so now is the time to buy. five yards ship's for $4.98. and 5 yards of fabric for $13.75. That is good savings if I do say so my self. I reduced all the Jelly rolls but one to $12.00 but One because it has 40 strips. Check at the store, I well have a few regular fabrics marked down too. So stop by when you can.

New Fabric coming in September.. Just have to go get a new shipping address for
shipments. Check out the winner for August at the bottom of special cuts..
And check out the information on previous post about the Wisconsin Quilt Expo.
See Everyone at the store... Connie & Ms Tibbs

Well the big move is over..

Hello everyone:

I hope everyone is fine and busy sewing, I am tired and still recouping from all that packing and unpacking and lifting. Just too much for a person my age, but Ms Tibbs enjoyed all the new stuff and investigating every corner or closet and still finding things to get into. She had this thing of jumping in a box I was emptying and I had too keep taking her out (it was funny). I would keep unpacking and she would go off and take a nap. (Go figure).

Be sure to check the web Store, I have put all the bargain Fabric on sale to $2.75 to get inventory down. I is not fun carrying all that fabric in box's, besides I want to order new and need the room... My fabric is 100% cotton and so pretty I know you will like them, so come and take a look, it doesn't hurt to look. I need some hints and Idea's from all helpful person's.

I have some interesting information on a Wisconsin QUILT EXPO.
Every year Nancy Zieman productions has the expo in Madison, Wisconsin.
This year it is September 10, 11, & 12, 2009. I went in 2007, but I missed last year because I was launching my store. But you will love it, I did. You can go
on line and request information at www.wiquiltexpo.com . I will not have a booth but maybe next year? That would be sweet and I would get to meet people here in Wisconsin and maybe they will shop with me.

Well enough for now, comment or be a follower, I won't bite..

Thanks ..Connie & Ms Tibbs

Very very busy

HELLO EVERYONE....

How is everyone doing with the different weather extremes we have? Texas is over heating, northern main and other states are cold. Here in Wisconsin it is just right for me, days have been in the 60 and 70. I love the cool weather not freezing and not boiling. How are all the quilt makers out there?? The cool weather is nice for sitting and sewing. The hot temperatures, it is best to stay in side the Air conditioning. Be sure to keep checking in on http://www.ctheworldofquilting.com/ August I will have some new books and great sales after my moving. I will call it a moving inventory sale.. Ms Tibbs (kitty) is fine and acting like a teenager... or maybe best said the terrible two's child. She is a real handful some times, she thinks my desk is hers and there is not a corner or space in the whole house that she does not know about. She has to check my closet out every time I open it and was stuck in it a couple of times. But back to quilting.. If there are any quilters out there that would like to send me a picture of their beautiful quilt I will post them on the web site and try to start a contest for best of show. Have a survey as to which is the prettiest, or most artistic. And I will give a prize for best and show. That sounds like fun., I will start the contest August and have one every month after. I Will look forward to getting pictures and starting this fun project. Well all for now. You may send pictures to info@ctheworldofquilting.com .

My kitty is not little anymore!!

Hi Everyone...
How is everyone doing?? The weather here in Wisconsin is just the temperature I like. so if it would stay this way it would be fine with me. Ms Tibbs my new little kitty that I showed you a picture of is not a baby any more. She is like a terrible 2 year old child that is into everything and some. She has this thing about getting in front of me while I am typing or on line reading my mail and insist on trying to catch the corset on the screen. It use to be funny and now I cannot get a thing done. Well back to quilting.. things seem to pretty quite out there, I think summer is setting in and everyone is out on vacation or at the fairs and stuff. I hope people check on the sales I have going on at http://www.ctheworldofquilting.com/ , there are pretty cotton fabrics for summer projects that make beautiful quilts, pillow, ladies hand bags and more. The 100% cotton fabrics I carry are so easy to work with and wash , with very, very little shrinking. I buy only the best from Kings Road and P&B, Quilting Treasures, cloth works.I will be ordering some beauties from Cloth World at the end of July when I am threw moving. I hope to be moved by the 25th. The moving is going good the Closing is set for the 10th of July and still ok! A few changes, but all is well. I will feel better when closing is done and the keys are in my hands. Well I winding down and will talk with everyone next post. I still have not heard from anyone on the subject of quilting. Is there anyone out there that will talk with me about quilting. More people could go to the store and join for the monthly give away, you only receive the news letter for joining. Who knows maybe you will see some beautiful fabric you can use.

See you....Connie and Ms Tibbs!!!!

Moving process

Hello Everyone...

Weather is H.O.T here in Wisconsin, how about by you??
Moving process is coming along, offer was accepted and I have all
the mortgage lender stuff done, and I am Waiting for the appraisal. The inspection is done and now I have to get an estimate done for floor covering.
I will have to start a list so I will not forget stuff..
I still need feedback from quilters as to what fabric they like (pattern design) and cuts. I usually order end of series and older designs to sell cheaper saving customers money, but I order the best grad of fabric. I will be ordering more series in July, so I could use some feed back and love conversation from sewers.
Well I got a little sewing done this past week.
I have a project my daughter tricked me into and has been
on going for 2 -3 months, making aprons for her art class.
I just can't find enough time to finish. They are all cut and pin buttttt.
Oh well I must keep on going and I will get there...
Thanks for listening..

Promised picture of Baby Tibby

Hi all you Quilters and Sewers..

I want to post more often, and I will later.
But I am in the process of moving..
At my age things are much slower and
longer. What use to take a week now takes at least
a month. So I found a townhouse, offer accepted, process
started. Need inspection and on and on. Closing is set for July 10.
I have three bdrms going to three bdrms. Have lower
large store and work area going to the same in new place.
Don't get me wrong I do not have 3 bedroom sets, 1 set ,
1 misc.room, 1 office.
hnm WOW...not counting kitchen, lvr. Need to stop talking and thinking
about it. It can depress you, but I will keep going....
I have no time to sew right now, but take time to put up
sales and information on Web site. Do visit when you have time.

Thanks for those who listen... Connie

I joined and met a friendly Quilt Group

Hi everyone...

I have to talk about the lively quilt group I joined this past week. The Qbeehive. They are a friendly bunch. They do talk about quilting, they discuss what they are making and the colors. One Qbee is making a Wedding ring quilt. They are beautiful quilts. I would like to see it when she is done. And post a picture on my web site. If there are persons that would like to send me pictures I will try and post them. email them to me at..
info@ctheworldofquilting.com and a little information about it and your name. There was a big discussion about Pat Knoegel, Eleanor Burns sister. She does give a gracious presentation and those at the Bee that heard it, all enjoyed it. I want to announce that I have a new baby in the house. (A kitty) She is a real baby... I have been undecided at what to call her. Baby fits, she has been crying for her mom and brothers. She is black on top, white belly, one black foot, and a sharp point in white on her head.
So I thought Princess... It will come to me...
Well enough for now. How about some comments or ideas from out there....

Connie....

I am in the process of finding my own place

I have taken the job of relocating myself and business in a place of my own. I do not know where, but a place of my own. I hope to take advantage of all the breaks of new home ownership. I have been renting for at least 8 to 10 years. And I am retired, I want one last place to call my own. But I can't decide on a house OR condo. I like my privacy, and I need room for my business. So what am I to decide. (could us some feed back). Is there any one out there that can help with some Idea's. Well back to Quilting.. I have been getting request for fabric that I do not have. So I am a good research person. I find out about the fabric being searched for and track it down. If there are persons of sewing that need helppppp finding things let me know. I am not one to hog customers, and glad too help. (I still need customers). So if there is a need I will be glad to help.
Email me at the store info@ctheworldofquilting.com and I will respond ASAP.
Hope to hear from you sewers and quilters.

Hello out there...

Things are pretty cloudy here in Milwaukee, Clouds and rain in the forecast. I am in the process of moving and trying to buy a house or what ever comes my way. I have owned home's in the past but the process is aggravating. But I have my niche (sewing) so it takes my mind off of other things I do not want to think about. I make hand bags and back packs, and I am in the process of making one for a friend at work. I am in the mode where I can not decide what to put on the pockets. She wants girly or womanly look. What do you think of my putting these pretty multi color 2" exotic fish, with red back on a dark green bag color. It is a little hard to picture. But I thought it looked outstanding... Well enough of that, I got some great news from my distributor CT publishing, I found out that you can go on their site (through my link) and get a look inside their books now (through google), that is so cool...
Thanks for reading..

I fond my old blog!!!

I knew I had a old blog, but I could not remember a thing about it. But leave it to Google to keep your file hidden in their continuous data. So I went on to the old blog and waa laa. In 2006 I had a wish to open a on line Quilt store. And in 2008 I did just that... You should check it out and see what you can do when you set your mind to get something done and do it..
From 2006 to now, I look back and see I have accomplished so much that I thank God everyday for. And realize the rest will come. Old blog address is
msconniemae.blogspot.com/
Thanks for listening and see you on my next post

I want to talk about Quilting and Web sites

I would like very much to discuss or receive comments with any quilter
or sewer as to what their prioity's or choices of fabric's, designs.
And over all needs to start quilting a projet is ?
My questions come from the need to sell fabric from my web site,
and still give a resaonable price. And of course get a freindly association going
with people of the quilting nich..
I am very much in need of feed back from customers as to what they
think and would like to see on the web site.
But for some unseen reason no one wants to comment
or give feed back, or even sign up for a new's letter.
I am not new to the web, I have been on the web since April of 2008.
I plan to enroll in Fab shop Hope and other sites, but I am still waiting
on enough sales to do all the good stuff.
So if there are any idea's out there for a better web site, I am here to listen...
