Remember to click on the Logo for the store.

I also dug up some info on needle's, how to use with different thread and types of sewing.
THREAD & NEEDLES
There is so much on thread & needles I will try to cover just the basics.
There is.. A. sewing...B. Quilting...C. Embroidery...D, Appliqué thread.
There are 3 basic types of thread..
1)
Natural- wool, silk, cotton, flax, jute
2)
Regenerated- Rayon, acetate.
3)
Man made- Polyester, nylon, acrylic, elastic, polypropylene, glass.
The basic and favorite is
100% cotton. Best used with 100% cotton fabric. They will move and shrink together. And they have thousand of color's.
Polyester... thread should not be used for seam or putting quilts together if using 100% cotton. It is like using a knife or scissors rubbing against the fabric over time.
Silk...thread is stronger then cotton and continuous filament. Many quilter use it for appliqué and hand work. Very easy to glide through fabric.
Bobbin... thread. It is best to use the same type in the bobbin and top.
Exception...when using metallic, decorative or nylon. A light weight cotton is best.

NEEDLE'S WITH WHAT FABRIC...??
The needle... Construction of a sewing machine needle, and how the thread fits the needle and how it works on the fabric you are sewing is the most important idea!!
Picking the wright sewing needle depends on
fabric and thread.
1) Pick the thread to match the fabric.
2) choose the needle type best for fabric being used.
3) Pick needle size to match the thread. And always start a new project with a new needle.
Needle size range in size from 60/80 (very fine) to 120/19 (heavy duty).
I have a
visual chart that shows recommend size below.
HAND NEEDLES... Each one is made for a different type of sewing.
Size's go from 1-15 and 13-28. The larger the # the finer the needle, and easier sewing,
Points are sharp for easy sewing with a (skinny diameter) .
The eye of needles from size small for quilting/ hand applique to...large for chenille and tapestry. Small needle (small hole)...Large needle (large hole).
Be careful because fabrics retain those large holes made by a large needle.

I hope this information can be of help to my fellow sewers.
I would enjoy a few comments below, or any suggestions.
