A New Year... WOW

   Floral Ferns by Kings Row

Hi Everyone...
How is the sewing world doing??

I have been pretty busy, and  I know I am not working on a job. The time is flying by and I still have so much to do. I have to stop and think! what is next and what is more important! Then I think to my self, why not sit down and sew. Does anyone else think that way? It helps me to think , slow down and decide what to do next.
As of to day I have about 1/2 dozen projects going at the same time. It keeps me from getting board and I put together a new idea.

OK! enough of my ramblings and down to the idea of quilting and all the wonderful quilts being put together out there. I am 3/4 of the way with my project Crumb Quilt, I am in the process of sandwiching the squares. When I get enough done I will lay them out and take a picture and post it.

I have a new SALE and a new L@@K at the web Store, check it out.. http://www.ctheworldofquilting.com/
And do not forget I have a new News Letter too, so go to the store and sign up or on the right side of the Blog, you can always change your mind and opt out.

I have plans for January to start a new page for Gifts. Jewelry, Bag's, back packs and maybe Quilts. So please make a vist or 2 and see what is going on at CTWOQ.

Everyone stay safe out there this holiday, and keep sewing those beautiful quilts.

Reg. $5.95...Sale $3.95

Hello!!   All My Quilting & Sewing Friends

I have to tell you about the NEW.. NEWSLETTER.

The first NewsLetter for November had a few boo boo's,  "I wonder if anyone noticed".  But!  the December letter is Kicken, as my Grand Kids say. I'm not sure that is Even a word! But it serves the purpose and makes me feel happy. This is my first time using GoDaddys Express Email.  Much better and more my speed to work with, so I just included it in my Web Hosting with them. I have to put a good word in for them, because they are sooo easy to work with, 24/7 especially at my age.

I put a sign up link on the side of this Blog. So feel free to sign up. It is a semi monthly Letter (twice a month) and if not satisfied you can always opt. out.  I have information about sales, new items, and new information like..Ordering direct from Kona Bay Fabrics. They have such pretty Hawaiian designs, I my self love Oriental designs, I have different objects around the house. I plan to Carrie some fabric in the near future with different gifts. So you will have to join and stay in touch with the News Letter. I will launch the December Letter on 12/1/10 so Join ASP.

The sales have changed at the Web Store. All bargain fabric will stay at $3.50. And no sales. But The Reg. Fabric will have 5 designs on sale every month for $3.95, I added some more books to the sale, check them out: there might be just the book you are looking for. I read them some time's and I can never pick just one pattern, I love them all..  Everyone has to check out the store at   http://www.ctheworldofquilting.com/
I could use a (little) criticism so email me at  info@ctheworldofquilting.com
or comment here on the Blog..
Well enough for now... Thanks Connie & Ms Tibbs (cat)

GRANDMA is HAPPY

New Fabric at C the World of Quilting

Hello....everyone!!!

It is the first of November already... Am I imagining things, but did October go flying by. I really think time has it's own speed limit. I think I know what the problem is..  I am moving so slow that time is passing me by. That must be the problem!! If you noticed the Grandma jumping up and down on the right side and happy, it should be me. I think I am finally going to retire, (2nd time). The company I work for is laying off a number of workers, (me included) so instead of finding more work. I have decided to retire permanently. I have plenty to keep me busy. I just need to make more money on my web store.  So if there are any new customers out there I could use them. I have nice fabric and reasonable prices, it would not hurt to check it out and do some window shopping as they say. You might find just the color or print you have been looking for. You can sign up at my comments and I can get your email out on my new (News Letter) I am working on.  http://www.ctheworldofquiltingcom/
Now I should have more time for Blogs and communication and or advertising.

How are all the new projects going on, I have a new one started called CRUMB CHAOS BLOCKS.
I found the photo tutorial on http://quiltingisstillmypassion.blogspot.com/ . The quilters name is Patti, and as soon as I saw the tutorial I loved it. I plan to email her and let her know how things are going. After I get some blocks done I will show pictures. I am going to put her link on my Web Store too, I have different links at the bottom of my home page to check out.  I have a link to the BeeHive Guild I belong to, I stay so busy I don't get to share with everyone, but I have a spot for some of their riddles and what I call funny funny's.

Well I guess I will stop for a quick break, and would like to here from some quilters out there..

FALL IS HERE AND WINTER IS ON THE WAY

Hello out there..

How is the quilting world doing these nice cool day's we have?
Fine I hope, I have a sample of 3 New Fabrics I put up on the web store. They can be used for children or many other quilt idea's. The fish can be cut out and used for applique, and the little patch look can be used for block's. There is always a way  for fabric to be used some where in quilting or where we least expect it.
I still have the sale on the Bargain Fabric's, @ $2.50 a yard, they are very good quality. The patterns and color's are all end of series from big co. I pick beautiful colors and patterns to use with quilts, adults and children. So jump at the prices while you can. I do need to reduce inventory so I can start to pick up more discontinued series that will be coming out. See the Web store @
http://www.ctheworldofquilting.com/

I am working on some of my UFO's slowly but surely. The reversible is coming along, I am thinking of putting it in a quilt contest of sorts. I just need to put the blocks together and put a border on, being a reversible the quilting is done on each individual block. It has the look of a cabin quilt design. So I have to get a move on.  Since my moving, I had some of the wind knocked out, and some health problems, but will keep on trying.

I look forward to having a chance to post pictures on the blog of some one's beautiful quilt. So send them in my comments or at the store and lets show them off. The quilt at the right of the bolg in white/yellow/blue is one of my UFO's.When I finish it I will post it and see what everyone thinks of it.

I wonder if I could get some feed back from the quilters out there! Just put a quick comment or contact at the store on how you feel about buying fat quarters , strips, or straight yardage. Which would you find easier to sew and work with. I promise not to solicitate or send emails (bug you). I just need an idea how things are going to help my web store customers. Things change out there and somtimes talking about what you need can help.

What do some quilters think about the look of a border around the quilt being small or large?  Does it depend on the size of the quilt or the pattern?? I have all these questions and need some feed back to help finish the quilt on the right and my reversible. Here or at the store.  Please!!

Well I guess I have Yakked enough. See you at the store and if you have questions or Idea's let me know on my contact page.

ALMOST BACK TO NORMAL

Hi Everyone!!!!

I hope you enjoy the above photo.. these are my 2 youngest grand daughters.
The three of us went to the Quilt exhibit at the Milwaukee Art Museum . The picture shows my Gd's at the children's art show. Here they can dress up, stand in front of different scene's and take pictures. As you can see the one on the right is a ham and the left is content to be in the picture. I took a few picture's of the exhibit quilts till security caught me and said I was not to take pictures because it was a private collection. I really did enjoy it, but the girls got a little bored, so we went on to the rest of the art.  Pictures, furniture, glass, statues. Speaking of statues, the girls had this thing about not looking at naked figures or pictures. When we got to one they should not see, they both would say  "Can't look Grandma). Tell me I don't have my GC trained!
I enjoyed the whole trip with them, bout I was so tuckered out. "wheewww.
And the both went to sleep early that night. HA HA HA

Well back to the real world of Quilting, If you check the web store ( http://www.ctheworldofquilting.com/ )
you will see I still have the bargain fabric on the same sale, I have to get inventory down. I would like to
cut more Fat Quarters and Jelly Rolls, so help me get some of the cut fabric out for new. They are both on
sale.
I posted a picture of my last Baby Quilt I made.  I hope you enjoy and send some of your pictures to the
web store and I will post them so everyone can see the beautiful creations. ( info@cthworldofquilting.com )

Hope to see everyone at the store.
Thanks Connie  @ CTWOQ

Well the big move is over!!

    KINGS ROAD  (Melody)

Hi Everyone..

I am almost threw putting things in their place, and a place for what ever!!
I think things would not have been so bad, had I not been down sizing at the same time. But it had to be done, and I am glad it is over. I just had too much stuff  (And I mean stuff). From furniture to kitchen, and anything else that needed thinning out.

Well back to our favorite subject Quilting, and fabric. Everyone needs to check the web store out because I still have July sales up. I have not had the time or chance to change everything. So.. please buy while I have such a good sale going on.
Bargain fabric is till  $2.50 a yard. And patterns & books are on sale. Just think you can buy 6 yards for $5.50 shipping. You have choice of any bargain fabric pattern, 1 yard or 6 if available and ships for $5.50. This will help down size my stock, so I can bring in some new patterns. There is something I have been wanting to say about the fabric from Kings Road that I carry. They are sooo soft and a brushed cotton feel, you want to touch to your face just for the soft feel.  If any customers out there have ever bought Kings Road, they know.

I posted a new baby quilt on my last post, hope you enjoyed it. Now I have to start a boy quilt for my grandson from Florida and probably more after that.
I would love to hear from anyone and send me pictures of quilts and I will post them.

I have a funny, funny....

While shopping for vacation clothes, my husband and I passed a display of bathing suits. It had been at least ten years and twenty pounds since I had even considered buying a bathing suit, so I sought my husband's advice.  "What do you think?" I asked. 'Should I get a bikini or an all-in-one?'
"Better get a bikini,' he replied. "you'd never get it all in one.'
He's still in intensive care.

Moving and keeping in touch.

Hello everyone....

So sorry I have not post in almost 2 months.. I have been packing, working on my day job
and all the other 100 things I should do. I have to give thanks to my son's for all their help.
I hope to stay at this place for a while no matter what. I just don't have it in me to do this
again at my age. Wheeew..

I got a few projects done before packing up all the sewing things. I was asked to make a bag
or back pack for a friend and another baby quilt. When I set my machines up and start back sewing
I am going to work on UFO's. Unfinished Objects.  Three to be exact, 2 queen and 1 throw.

How are thing out there in sewing land, are there new quilts to be seen?
I would love to see them, just comment and leave me some  pictures I can post.

I guess if anyone has tried the web store, they will see that the shopping cart is closed for
2 weeks for my moving. You can check out the web store and come back for the new sales
in August. You can buy as many yards in one solid piece or what ever is on the bolt.
So try and check out the store in August...     www.ctheworldofquilting.com

I hope to have a new post for the 1st,Aug. so check back.

Special sale at C the World of Quilting!!

Hell Everyone!!

Have you ever had so much to do and accomplish, you had to make a list so you would  not forget stuffff.  Well come join me and my list to do stufff. I am busy moving again.
I have to down size while moving, so this puts a kink in the moving process.

Let me first ask... How is everyone, fine I hope. We have nice weather and that is a good thing and helps to get other things done. Is everyone sewing?? Are we getting those projects done?
Well I hope you are, because I cannot for the life of me get my projects and repairs started or done.
I have another request for a baby Quilt, Tot bag, and a 1/2 dozen repairs to do. I started the baby quilt, pick out the colors and cut out strips, and got distracted with moving stuff. I know what I have to do, start and keep moving ahead.

I have to tell everyone about the sale at the Quilt store. I put all the Bargain fabric at $2.50 a yard, starting June 1,2010 to July 17,2010. thinking this might help with the process of moving less box's.
I have to say something about the fabric's I carry at the store, it wasn't till I started packing and opening the bolts did I realize how beautiful the colors and patterns are. When you get them in your hands and
get a close look, you really appreciate the quality and colors.
That is why I try to let my customers know I carry the best 100% cotton. I have never had a customer come back to me and say the fabric was poor or bad quality.
Please take a moment and check them out..       http://www.ctheworldofquilting.com/

I would like to hear from sewers out there, about their projects or send me pictures of their quilts or other projects. If you want to send the pictures to the store I will post them there.. the email address for CTWOQ is...  info@ctheworldofquilting.com . You can ask question's or just comment.

I have a Funy Funny from the ladies at the BeeHive.

The Graveside service just barely finished, when there was a massive clap of thunder, followed by a tremendous bolt of lightning, accompanied by even more thunder rumbling in the distance.

The little old man looked at the pastor and calmly said, "Well, she's there.
Thanks Jean at the Beehive..

Pictures of New Baby Quilt

Hi Everyone...

Hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather after all the storms and rain we had. The temperature out side is getting so warm. I am afraid to get happy and enjoy my self.  I hope everyone is safe from all the twisters and winds we had. I always feel sad when I see that on the News and Weather. We cannot do too much about  nature's way, except pick up and clean up and pray everyone is ok!

How doe's the baby Quilt look??  I love to use bright colors, because I have learned from experience that baby's eye's are drawn to them. I have a big family and there have 6 children and Grand, and Great Grandchildren. 25 Grand and about 10 Greatgrand children. I better get back to Quilting talk, or I would be talking all day about children.

I am going to use a new News letter from the Web site, so expect some changes from C the World of Quilting. Have to make cut backs, and not everyone opens the news letter. So this will be more economical.

I will be offering (1) yard of free fabric with $50.00 or more of sales, I feel this is a nice incentive for customers that buy, and to show my appreciation for the sale's. There are some beautiful books at the store and some on sale, so come and check them out. There is thread on sale, buy 2 get one free, bargain fabric is on sale @ $3.00 a yard.

Love to hear any comments from you sewers, I have never had a comment from the(Sewing Guild) BeeHive.. I wonder do they ever read my blog???
I put some of their funny riddles and stories on the store front page every month, I wonder do  any of them know that too??
Well enough of wondering..
Thanks to all my customers, and readers.  Connie @ CTWOQ

FUNNY.. A doctor examining a woman who had been rushed to the Emergency Room,
took the husband aside, and said, 'I don't like the looks of your wife at all.'
'Me neither doc,' said the husband. 'But she's a great cook and really good with the Kids.

Sorry to all my followers!!!

HI EVERYONE!!!

I am very sorry about not posting since the end of  Feb./March. If you where trying to click on my blog, you would get a black screen and voice's. I am sorry there are weirdo's out there that go around putting bad bug's in gagets. So be careful when doing your gagets and add on's to your blog.
Some one put a bug in my (follower gaget.)
I had to clean out all my gagets till I found it in my followers. Then I had to go into my HTML, find it and delit it. So no more follower gaget.  You will just be able to comment.

Like the lady above, I will keep my cool and continue on with the important things, Quilting, sewing and prayer.. Maybe not in that order, prayer come's first with me.

SO.......... How is everyone????
I have to say the weather is sooooo... nice. Warmer and Sunny, now I know that spring is here. I even see buds on the tree's, green grass and some flowers comming up.

Enough of all that stuff, I never did get any comments on what people would like to see on a Quilt Web site, maybe if someone dicides to give a suggestion, I will post it. If it not,  how about some pictures of projects or quilts that I can post on the web Store. Email them to me at  info@ctheworldofquilting.com    Do not forget to give them a name, and when they were made. I posted a few I made on the Blog, I will post more later.  I am working on a new baby quilt for a shower at work. I will photo it and post it.

WOW.. It is March, Spring is on the way

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!

I have to say something about the time, the days and months are going by so fast. It is the first of March...whewww, I feel like time is passing me by. And the weather is another whole different ball game. But then if the time keeps going so fast then the bad weather will be gone before you know it. All that sounds good, I cannot wait for spring/ summer.

I just got a gooood idea!!!!!
Come April 1st, I am going to have a big, big sale. How does that sound?
Everyone will have to check the web store the first of April, and hope it is not
April Fools, Heee, Heee.... No way, I would not do that?? Just kidding......
The fabric I have pictured on top is called Color Story, it is such a pretty deep color fabric. It has to be seen to be appreciated, with deep shades and 100% soft cotton. Very pretty, and beautiful for making quilts, the poky dots are very small.
I still need to buy a new sewing machine, I narrowed it down to 2. A singer and a computerized Brother. The Singer is a heavy duty commercial style. And the brother is heavy duty but not commercial. I want one that will do free style and have a wide space for quilting, but have a # of stitches available. If anyone knows of a machine with these needs, I would appreciate the information, you could leave it in the comments. Maybe it will help me to decide.
Next blog I will post some Pictures of quilts the ladies at the Beehive have done, that I think are gorgeous. So If anyone out there that would like to see them on the web store or my blog, email them to me. info@ctheworldofquilting.com or cwilliams102@wi.rr.com
Well happy sewing and hope to see some quilts to post.
Connie @ CTWOQ & Ms Tibbs..

Is Spring coming soon???

************************************************************************************

HELLO EVERY ONE!!

I had to ask the question is spring coming because I did not hear what happened to the Ground Hog. Did he see his shadow or what????

Can we really count on a animal as such to tell us about the weather?? Doe's any one out there really know? And can we depend on such a forecast? I have all these questions and no one out there can answer them! If some one could comment and tell me if these things are true. Until I find out if any of this is true, we shall go on to conversations about quilting. This was (A senior moment)

Quilting is my better subject... speaking about the subject, Do you happen to see the book's I have posted above?? They are very informative and loaded with patterns, and embellishments that are unbelievable. Not to say beautiful..

I also came upon this idea!! I would like to come up with a small survey as to

(What you as a customer would like to see on a Quilt web store?)

All everyone has to do is comment on the blog and give me your best idea. I in turn will give out a gift from the store if I use your suggestion. And I will post the winner on the Blog March 31, 2010. So if I do not get any idea's I don't have to give a prize, does that sound fair?? If anyone has signed up on my web store. knows" I give out prize's every month. So you have to tell me your idea's and check back March 31, as to what suggestion I used, and then send me your address information. If you become a follower and comment, there may be extra in your package. All I need is some feed back, the old saying the more you give the more you receive, really works.

Well on to other good things.. like the sale going on at C the World of Quilting. Have you checked them out. I have bargain fabrics @ $3.20 a yard.. very pretty fabric, including children's prints. With Tom and Jerry and Flintstones. They make nice Jammys and bedroom curtains and more. I Carrie only 100% high grad Cotton. I plan to get more pattern's up real soon. I seen some pretty Bag and purse designs I like and know you will too. Come visit the store and check out all the bargains and don't for get to leave some idea's about what you might like to see at the store.

www.ctheworldofquilting.com

Well I shall hold on to all other good things until we meet again. Keep up with all the good things in your life and love those close to you. Hope to see you at the store, and Blog.

Up Dates on projects and Web Store

Hi Everyone..
Have you noticed; I have not been commenting on the weather so much lately..
I put a weather link next to my post so everyone can check their own weather. It has warmed up here and my body appreciates all it can get in this Cold State of Wisconsin.
Just click (Edit) and put your zip code in.
How is your new year going so far?? Mine seems pretty normal but I do not want to say too much, things might change. My job is OK' could be better. I got my little raise but I could use more hrs. But I dare not complain, some people have nothing.
I want to say my heart goes out to all those in Haiti..
And I say a prayer everyday for them and contribute what I can. Very sad.. but we have to keep on going and work on our own lives.

On to a happy subject.. QUILTING' How is it going with everyone out there??

It is going slow with me, both my machines have gave out on me. I can sew regular stitch's but I constantly have to stop and fix the tension. I have been window shopping for a machine, new or old. I need something heavy duty and extra stitching. I want to do more embroidery if possible. I found a couple of good deals on line, one with an (all sewing machine) co. they have so many machines to choose from it gives them the advantage of reasonable pricing.

About the project of back packs and hand bags, it will have to go on hold until I get a better machine. Now I want to sew and I have to wait.
I want to tell everyone about all the nice new BOOKS I put up on the WEB store.
I spent more time reading them, so I can pick some projects out for my self.

You have to see them at.. http://www.ctheworldofquilting.com/
I also have a big sale on BARGAIN FABRIC'S.. only $3.20 a yard and 5 yards ship for $5.00. that's $16.oo. That is a bargain...
All orders over $50.00 get a free surprise.. and a free pattern.

Enroll in the monthly drawing and win a free prize...
Hope to see everyone at the store.

A NEW YEAR IS HERE!!!

Hi Everyone!!!!

Can you believe yesterday when we went to sleep it was a
different year...Wake up and we are in another year!!!
Do I sound senil or what.. well anyway, I hope everyone
will have a healthy and a more happy new 2010.
I have been busy at the computer on the web site, I brought in more
books and patterns. So check them out at the store.
I am on a new project, I have made Backpacks and Bags from old jeans and other fabrics.
So I will make more styles and maybe post a few when I am done. They will sell for about $25.00 to 30.00. You can give me your input on them or not.. on my next I will post a few pictures. I make them from designer jeans, I use the pockets and other logo's and put them on the back packs and bag's. I even use children , jean skirts and bib coveralls. I can be very creative when it comes to cutting up things and putting them back together a different way.
Like I said on previous blogs, I have brought in some nice knitting books, a new one is for making blocks and sewing together and making a quilt...
I also have 2 new patterns I know you big quilt challengers out there would love to tackle.
This is a shorter then usual blog...so see you at the store.
